Mary Leitao, the director of ALA, stated: "Since 1978, ALA has been helping Beaver County adults achieve the skills necessary to gain a high school equivalency, enter the workforce, and prepare for apprenticeship programs, training programs or college."
She added, "Many of our students have transportation challenges and our expansion in Ambridge will make it easier and more convenient for them to get the necessary education to achieve their goals."
Adult Literacy Action provides adult basic education services at four classroom locations in Beaver County. A partnering agency can provide financial help to pay for the high school equivalency test (GED) for individuals under age 25.
