Old Economy Village will be presenting its annual fall festival, Erntedankfest, on October 7th and 8th. Come join us to celebrate the fall harvest and experience the tasks performed to prepare for the coming winter. Our artisans will be cooking, baking and demonstrating many different crafts and skills, including wood working, cheese making, baking, candle dipping and many other of your favorite (and tasty!) activities. Live music performances will be available both days for our hard working guests to relax and enjoy. Craft and food vendors, children’s games and activities, music and tours of our historic village will make for a joyous event for you and your family.
Event hours are Saturday, October 7th from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, October 8th from Noon until 5:00 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults (aged 12-64); $9 for seniors (aged 65 and up); $6 for children (aged 3-11); and free for children under 3, active military, and Friends of Old Economy Village members.
Old Economy Village is a historic site of the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission. The site preserves and presents the life, thought, and material culture of the Harmony Society, a highly successful and entrepreneurial 19th century religious community. Old Economy was the heart of the Harmony Society’s community of Economy from 1824 until the commune was dissolved in 1905. It is part of Ambridge’s Economy National Historic Landmark, and is among the region’s most important historic sites. Old Economy Village is administered by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission and is actively supported by the Friends of Old Economy Village which is a non-profit community-based organization.
