advertisement Pittsburgh Bishop David Zubik returned to his roots with a special visit Sunday to Good Samaritan Parish in Ambridge.
Zubik performed a special Mass devoted to his late godfather and Uncle Rudy Tabinowski, who died 18 years ago, and his Aunt Cecelia Tabinowski in celebration of her birthday.

advertisement During his homily, Zubik recalled fond memories of the parish, including having received his high school diploma in the building 47 years ago.
An Ambridge native, Zubik belonged to St. Stanislaus Parish, now part of Good Samaritan Parish, while growing up and he attended St. Stanislaus Elementary School and St. Veronica High School, both in Ambridge, before entering St. Paul Seminary in Pittsburgh.
He was installed as the 12th bishop of Pittsburgh in 2007, and was previously vice principal of Quigley Catholic High School and chaplain to the Sisters of St. Joseph Motherhouse and the students at the former Mount Gallitzin Academy.
