At tonight’s Ambridge Borough Council Meeting (7PM in Council Chambers at the Borough Building), the Burzese Family and Police Station Pizza are to be presented with a proclamation recognizing their business for over six decades of business in Ambridge.
In the early 1950’s, Angelina and Robert L. Burzese, Sr., a former employee of the Ambridge Water Authority and World War II veteran, ventured into the restaurant business, fostering a long-standing legacy for creating exceptional pizza using a creative and unique recipe. The Burzese Family establishment has had many names while operating in Ambridge, including The Original Style Pizza in Ambridge, 14th Street Pizza and most notably – Police Station Pizza; landmarked by being the Borough’s longstanding neighbor on Merchant Street next to the former Ambridge Borough Building. Now in the second generation of family owned operation, Robert’s son, Alex Burzese, since 1986 has carried forward in his father’s footsteps in providing the legendary pizza.
The efforts of Alex Burzese and family have created, nestled and promoted Police Station Pizza to serve quality meals for over sixty years, bringing many people to Ambridge to try their legendary pizza, and have built a reputation for being one of the best pizzas in the Metropolitan Pittsburgh area.
