Ambridge Cub Scout Pack 498 collected 51 bags of food over the course of one week for the local food bank pantry at Center for Hope.
Ambridge Cub Scout Pack 498 collected 51 bags of food over the course of one week for the local food bank pantry at Center for Hope.
In May, more than, 600 people, which included 171 children, received food from the pantry, according to Center for Hope Director, Sue Otto.
Otto told the scouts she was proud of them for remembering the hungry people. "It is really important to learn to be leaders and do honorable things. "
More than 200 volunteers help out at the center, which is always in need of nonperishable food donations or financial support. Food can be dropped off during office hours from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the summer.
Donations can also be sent c/o Dave and Sue Otto to The Center for Hope, 740 Park Road, Ambridge, PA 15003. For more information, call 724-251-4899.
