If you've ever dreamed about opening your own business, an upcoming seminar and a business open house could help with the process.
The next "Start Your Business" seminar will take place at noon on June 10 at Beaver County Emergency Services, 351 14th St. in Ambridge.

The seminar, sponsored by Ambridge Connection, will allow people who are considering a new venture in the area to ask questions and present their concerns about opening a business.

Community partners will discuss topics that include free entrepreneurship education classes, real estate,  permits, zoning, local involvement, grant programs and more.

Also, to help prospective business owners, an "Ambridge Business Corridor Commercial Property Open House" will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 13.

Several Merchant Street properties will be showcased during the open house. Start at 448 Merchant St. to pick up a map and begin your journey.
Real estate agents or the owners will be on hand to talk with those in attendance about the buildings, features of the buildings, rental rates or purchase prices, and general information about the downtown business district.

If you have been dreaming about opening your own business for years, now is the time to do it. The number of business owners and community leaders in Ambridge who are pushing for economic revitalization is at an all time high.

"Over the past year and a half, I believe 15 businesses opened their doors around the area who have seen success," said Felicia Mycyk of Ambridge Connection. "Now with the new hotel and barber school,  it will show that the greater Ambridge area can become, in time,  a destination for shopping, education, food."
