Ambridge Borough recently closed the Ambridge Skate Spot after a resident spoke of his concerns during a prior council meeting.
Clinton Tidwell said he was concerned that portions of the Skate Spot were too rough and uneven.
Tidwell brought pictures and told council that he was afraid someone would get injured.
"If we could propose a fundraiser of some sort to see that this gets done," Tidwell said.
He said his son uses the park. "The skate spot is where he learned to skate and now in it's current condition of disrepair he can not."
Ambridge Council made the decision to close the Skate Spot temporarily for liability reasons until funds are available for resurfacing and the project is complete.
According to the borough website, no set date has been provided for the resurfacing.
