Kids and adults who are interested in soap box derby will have a hands-on opportunity to learn more Saturday in Ambridge.
Western Pennsylvania Soap Box Derby is hosting a free "Fun day" to give children ages 7 to 17 a chance to ride a real soap box derby car and gather information about racing.
This year there will be two cars strictly for the adults to drive.

"We will set up a track just like it was a race day and any kids can try it for free" said board member, Tim Cassidy. " At the same time will run the adult cars and the adults can pay to ride those."
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on 14th Street at Duss Avenue. Cars will race down 14th toward Merchant Street.
Because the event is for fun, they will not be doing any timing. Organizers with the volunteer group are also providing the cars and helmets.
"It's just something good for the kids to do around here. It's something different." added Cassidy.
"It's anybody can compete against anybody , it doesn't matter your athletic ability."
Ambridge is where the races are run.
"Any one from Ambridge, Beaver , Butler, Lawrence and Mercer counties who wants to race has to race in Ambridge." added Cassidy.
