Three local softball players are headed to the National World Series in Myrtle Beach.
Haylee Helman, Kayla Edwards, and Gretchen Oslick are players for Beaver County-based Valley Rage Fastpitch Softball 12U team.
Valley Rage Softball is a travel league that players must tryout to make the team. Coaches are volunteers and the goal is to teach the youth the game of softball and introduce the girls to a higher level of competitive softball.
According to Coach Jamie Payne the team has played 7 tournaments this year and has won 5 championships. They qualified for two National World Series Tournaments in California and South Carolina. They are looking for donations to help defray the cost of the hotel stay and travel to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
"We choose as a group to go to Myrtle Beach" shared Payne. The tournament starts August 3rd and ends on August 9th; the tournament fee is $900.
