National Grandparents Day is this Sunday and the State Street Elementary Parent Teacher Association saw an opportunity to connect families.
Students were able to spend time with their grandparents before school started to have breakfast together in the school cafeteria.
"Goodies with Grandparents" was attended by over 100 people before school on Friday and expecting over 40 for Monday's event according to Amy Forder, President of the PTA.
The event was a fundraiser, shared Forder, who added that "Our motto this year to connect the families with school. "
"A lot of kids come home from school and have after school activities, they have homework, and don't get t see their grandparents very often shared Carol Loftus grandmother to Allison and Marena Baker.
"I see my mine every day. I am very fortunate, some don't. So, this is nice they could come and have breakfast."
