Ward's father posted his bond the same day of the arrest, police said.
Ward was charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property. He was arraigned before District Justice Andrew Hladio on $25,000 bond. Ambridge Police Chief James Mann thanked everyone who offered information. "We got bombarded with calls from all the concerned citizens. I am extremely pleased with the overwhelming response." Mann said two people identified Ward, who also called to turn himself in due to multiple calls about him being recognized on Ambridge Connection's social media post. Ward wanted to turn himself in Friday but was taken into custody today. Mann shared that Ambridge Do It Best owner, Frank Stano, has one of the nicest businesses in the community and a phenomenal surveillance system. Total amount of property stolen was $304.97. Ward cooperated and apologized for what he did added Mann. |
