"Volunteering for beautification projects brings together like-minded people and encourages a real sense of community. Many friendships have been forged which otherwise would not have occurred " said Roberta Sciulli, President of CCBA.
Participants in the past have included residents, business people, and school and community groups such as the Boy Scout Troop 498, Ambridge High Ecology club, ROTC, Trinity Ministry, among others. Sciulli shared " Through school groups, students also clean-up around the high school during the school day. All participants set a positive example of getting involved in the community."
With the event being a registered event CCBA will free cleanup supplies such as bags, gloves and vests donated by PennDOT and Keep America Beautiful. Pick It Up PA Days, which is from April 18th to May 8th, sponsored by Department of Environmental Protection, Pennsylvania Waste Industries Association, and participating landfills.
Dumpsters are available for community use at the borough building from friday April 28th to May 5th or until filled. Batteries, paint, tires, electronic,tv's and appliances are not be accepted.
