On Thursday at the American Legion Mother's Against Drunk Driving (MADD) will do a presentation on the Power of Parents. Th presentation will focus on underage drinking how its poses a special risk to young people.
Using strategies from MADD’s Power of Parents handbooks, this discussion guide prepares parents to talk with your child about alcohol, ask questions to encourage an exchange of ideas, discuss clear family rules about not drinking before 21 or riding in a car with someone who has been drinking, and agree on consequences if agreements aren’t met.
Baden Mayor Sam Gagliardi will be signing a proclamation in support of MADD’s Power of Parents in honor of the National day for parents and caregivers to talk to their kids about alcohol, which is April 21.
