Christmas on Merchant
10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13
There will be plenty of events for the entire family to enjoy, starting with the merchants' holiday open house from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The parade begins at 11 a.m. followed by free children's activities from noon to 3 p.m. in PJ Caul Park, where families can also visit Santa at 12:30 p.m. and enjoy free horse-drawn carriage rides from 1 to 3 p.m.

Be sure to stop by Laughlin Memorial Library in Ambridge on Saturday for live music, cookies, and hot chocolate, plus a free craft for kids. Just walk in!
Lunch with Santa
1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13
Children ages 3 to 8 can also have lunch with Santa from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday during the Christmas open house at Laughlin Memorial Library in Ambridge. Join the library for a holiday celebration with songs and music by Chuckie. The program is free, but registration is mandatory. Call 724-266-3857.
Christmas at The Village
2 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13 and 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14
Step back in time to visit a 19th century Christmas Village at Old Economy. Walk along a candlelit cobblestone street and window shop in the various stores that contain demonstrators eager to show off their wares from this time.
People looking for last minute gift ideas will find unique handmade items for sale by vendors. Local choirs will be performing on the second floor of the Feast Hall. Children’s crafts and activities along with a visit from Belsnickel (Pennsylvania Dutch Santa Claus) will be in the Kinderhaus. Harmonist stew, soup, apple cider, and other food will be available for purchase in the Granary. Cost is $10 for adults 12 and up, $9 for seniors 65 and older, and $6 for children ages 3-11.
Live Nativity
Saturday, Dec. 13
In conjunction with the Old Economy festivities, St. John's Lutheran Church, 1320 Church St. in Ambridge, will have its annual Live Nativity. The presentation runs every 20 minutes from 4:40 p.m. to 6:40 p.m., followed by Carol Singing at 7 p.m. The public is also invited to dine from 1 to 6:30 p.m. at the church.
Ugly Sweater Contest
Saturday, Dec. 13
Harmony Ridge will hold an Ugly Sweater Contest on Saturday December 13th at 7:00 pm. in the downstairs bar. Entertainment for the evening will be done by Killer Moose. Cost of admission is free but the owners ask that winter items like a new pair of gloves, a hat, sweater etc. to be brought for Project Holiday Dreams .
Santa is coming to town
Sunday, Dec. 18
Riding upon a Fire Truck, Santa will deliver treats to Harmony Twp neighborhoods, accompanied by the Harmony Twp Volunteer Fire Department.
Christmas Bingo
Sunday, Dec. 14
Ambridge High school Football and Cheerleading organization in conjunction with Care Bear foundation is holding Bingo games.
Doors open at 4pm, Bingo begins at 5pm at St. Peter & Paul Church Hall, 404 6th St, Ambridge PA
Visit Mr. and Mrs. Clause
Every weekend in December before Christmas
217 Maplewood Avenue in Ambridge on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mr. And Mrs. Santa Clause hand out candy canes to all who visit the home to see the lights.
Donations are accepted for St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.
Write Letters to Santa
During business hours in December
The Moonbeam Jar will have a special station set up for children to write a letter to Santa. Mary Holleran, owner, said Santa will answer each letter based upon the information provided and the response will be mailed back to the address provided.
The Santa Letter Writing Center is free and is located at The Moonbeam Jar, 812 Merchant St., Ambridge.
Model Train Show
Every Saturday and Sunday through January
The Ohio Valley Lines Model Railroad and Museum has opened its model railroad display for the annual holiday season.The Ohio Valley Lines Model Railroad Club, located at 1225 Merchant St. in Ambridge, is open noon to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays through the month of January. Cost is $6 for adults and $2 for children.
