The new Walmart store in Economy is on schedule to open next month as construction moves closer to completion.
According to Walmart officials, associates have started stocking shelves in preparation for the grand opening. The date has not yet been announced.
"We’re bringing the convenience of one-stop shopping and low prices to Economy, and the wait is almost over,” store manager Kory Campbell said in a news release.
“We look forward to saving local residents money so they can live better.”
The approximately 150,000-square-foot supercenter will include a grocery, auto shop and a wide assortment of merchandise. Earlier this year, Walmart began hiring about 300 new full- and part-time workers for the store.
