If you are currently looking for a new job, Walmart has plans to hire 300 new workers starting next month, according to the mayor of Economy borough.
Walmart has leased space at the Baden American Legion, 271 State St., to use as a "hiring post" to fill about 300 positions at the new Walmart Supercenter in Economy, Mayor David Poling announced at Tuesday’s council meeting.
Poling said job interviews will begin the second week in February and continue over the next four months. In addition to 300 new workers, transferred employees will fill other positions, he said.
Walmart is on schedule to complete the construction of a new Supercenter on acreage behind the Northern Lights Shopping Center.
Poling said the store--in the works since 2006--will officially open in April.
