The event was a huge success with at least 450 people attending. The committee also debuted it's live costumed pierogi and chili pepper which turned out to be very popular with the children in attendance. Cash awards and trophies were awarded for the best chili and best pierogi. There was also awards for people's choice and best display. There was a bake sale and beverages were sold by the Ambridge Volunteer Fire Department as a fundraiser. Other activities were 50/50 drawing, silent auction, and children activities provided by Head Start.

The Committee To Clean and Beautify Ambridge would like to thank all the volunteers, food participants, and the public who helped make this cook-off a great success. Also a big thanks to all of our sponsors who donated funds and businesses who donated items for the silent auction. A big thanks goes out to our entertainment who graciously donated their time, Holly Mathias, Bob Spak, and The Mudslinger Band. We would also like to thank the independent judges of the participants food entries, Rep. Rob Matzie, Tom Pappas -owner Maple Restaurant, Justin Miller, and Osman Awad-chef at Allegheny Country Club.
The C.C.B.A. committee is planning to use the funds raised at the cook-off to refurbish the war memorial located at P.J. Caul Park, 11th St. and Merchant St. in Ambridge. The projected work completion goal is tentatively set for late fall 2018, depending on amount of funds raised. Information call 724-462-7677 or email at [email protected].
