Matthew Salopek, partner of Bridgetown Taphouse, shared that his mother, Janet was an avid reader and always like to support the library both here in Ambridge and Aliquippa.
"It was one of her favoritecauses," Salopek said. "We decided that after she passed, to direct all donations to the library."
Salopek said that he had a conversation with Julie Mulcahy about donating to the library and the conversation "snowballed " into Oktoberfest.
"It's good to be involved in the community. It's more than a bar supporting a library or a library supporting a bar. It's everybody working together to do something good," Salopek said.
"We are excited to partner with Bridgetown Taphouse," Mulcahy said in an email. "Together we are all working to move Ambridge forward."
Joellen Reed from Beaver Falls shared that the "food was good and beer was excellent"
"This event will only grow, it was a nice event," added Reed.
The event provided guests eight different beers and samplings of different traditional based German foods.
