Bingo cards featuring 24 local businesses and Laughlin Memorial Library in the free space, can be purchased for $5 at the Ambridge library and participating merchants. Cards will also be sold on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside the Ambridge Do It Best.
Lorianne Stangl Burgess, co-organizer with the Ambridge Progressive Merchants Association, said the fundraiser is a way to help support the library and promote the downtown merchants and businesses at the same time.
“Even if people buy the cards and (don't participate), the library still gets the money,” she said.
How it works
Merchant Bingo participants will have a chance to win several prizes by visiting participating business during normal business hours. Merchants will stamp a square on the bingo card at each stop.
Every bingo space equals one raffle ticket. Multiple bingos are possible on individual cards vertically, horizontally and diagonally. If you cover all of the squares, you will receive 15 tickets plus.
For every $5 you spend in the business, you'll receive one bonus stamp and an extra raffle ticket. (Limit 8 bonus stamps per business.)
Bingo cards can be turned in at Stangl’s Bakery or The Moonbeam Jar, any time until noon on June.
Prizes will be on display at the library and winners will be drawn June 19 at the library.
