The new Speedway gas station and convenience store currently under construction along Route 65 in Harmony Township is expected to open before the end of the year.
The new 4,600-square-foot location will feature 12 consumer fueling lanes with six auto dispensers and two commercial fueling lanes. Griffith said the store will also have a complete convenience store and Speedway’s "latest evolution in food" – a Speedy Café.
"Speedy Café is a fast casual restaurant where customers place their orders on a self-serve ordering kiosk," Griffith said.
She said the food is freshly prepared and will feature paninis, subs, specialty dogs, customizable pizzas, hand-crafted beverages such as lattes, mochas, smoothies and frappes, along with breakfast sandwiches and sides.
Speedway, headquartered in Enon, Ohio, is a company-owned and operated convenience store chain with approximately 2,740 stores located in 22 states.
Those interested in working at either store can apply online at www.speedway.com.
In addition to Speedway, construction is progressing just across the road at the new Wright Chevrolet car dealership in Harmony Township.
Township Engineer Frank Lemon said he doesn't expect the dealership project will be complete before the end of the year.
