1. Ambridge Little Lady Bridgers Basketball
Starting on Monday, Oct. 8th the Ambridge little lady bridgers will hold an open Gym for girls interested in playing for travel basketball teams. Girls in grades 4, 5, 6 that are in Ambridge School District or attend a school that does not offer a basketball program can attend the open gyms.
Open gym on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm to 8 pm at the Highland Elementary school gym. Sign-ups will be during open gym. Download form here.
Jean Fritsch, the program coordinator, added that they are looking for assistant volunteer coaches and program volunteers that will help in other capacities for the program. She noted that Little Lady Bridgers is not an in-house league.
2. Ambridge Boys Youth Basketball
Starting Oct. 13 and running for five Saturdays there will be a structured basketball development program for Boys who are in 2nd grade to 6th Grade that live in the Ambridge Area School District
The development program will be held at Ambridge High School and cost $30 for all five sessions. The program will include conditions, drills, skill stations, and controlled games.
Ambridge High School Boys Varsity Team, as well as coaches from the High School, Junior high and Travel teams, will assist with the boys learning ball handling, shooting passing, rebounding, defensive skills, and strength and agility.
Eric Astorino shared that the program is designed to develop an understanding of the fundamentals and skills needed to be a basketball player at the youth level. Registration will be on Oct. 13 and must be paid in full the first day of the program. Questions call 412-974-4696 . Download flyer
3. Senior Project: Ambridge Basketball Camp
Aaron Hilzenderger along with Coaches Mark Jula, Eric Astorino, Ryan Healey and several members of the varsity high school boys team will hold a basketball camp in November for any boy or girl in 1st grade through 8th grade.
Guest speakers and special instruction will be given by Grossetti Performance and Drive Basketball .
Cost is $30 for all five sessions and it includes a shirt. The camp will provide various fundamentals of basketball and campers will complete various drills to improve individual skills. 4. Ambridge Middle School Basketball
Tryouts will be here before you know it. Coach Craig Wiltek announces during school hours when open gym will be each week for the 7th and 8th grade boys. He also posts all open gym on Ambridge Connection Community Group page.
5. ALB In-House Basketball
Megan Clark, ALB volunteer, shared that they are looking to hold games in-house this year, but for the program to continue, they are in need of coaches. Practices and games will run Nov - Feb.
