The Imagination Celebration included a movie premiere, a website launch and three original books by third- and fourth-graders. The Imagination Celebration at Baden Academy celebrated the hard work of 12 research fellow projects Friday at the charter school as well as the science fair participants.

The Ambridge Area High School Drama Club provided comical entertainment and flavorful meals to a packed house this past Friday and Saturday evening at the school. The Ambridge Area High School production of “Peter Pan” earned a total of five nominations and Quigley Catholic High School's "Pippin" earned two nominations in the 20th annual Henry Mancini Musical Theatre Awards program. The nominations recognize outstanding student achievement in high school musical theatre in Beaver, Butler and Lawrence counties. Three locals will be recognized on Friday for their service to Beaver County law enforcement. Jack Lively, retired Harmony Township police chief and Kevin Joy, retired director of emergency services, will receive the Beaver Valley Chiefs of Police Association Award for Distinguished Service. The service award is for members who retired last year. Lively retired after 42 years in police work, 32 of those years as police chief. Joy retired after 31 years of service to Beaver County. Baden police Sgt. Dave Alvarez will receive the Beaver County Women Center Award. |
